Support our COVID-19 Response

RIVER FUND is the lifeline for more
than 15,000 New York City families most severely affected by COVID-19

New York City is the epicenter of the global COVID-19 pandemic. The disruption and hardship are almost indescribable for New Yorkers living in material hardship. According to The Mayor’s Office of Economic Empowerment, that’s 63% of our population—“19% in deep poverty, and 44% near poverty.”

Of course, every time there’s a disaster, it is always the poor who suffer the most: Whether from the massive disruption and displacement caused by the financial crisis of 2008, Superstorm Sandy in 2012, or this global pandemic.

At the beginning of this crisis, RIVER FUND’s client base was already more than 15,000 families... the numbers have risen dramatically since then.

Now, those same families are facing COVID-19. Although the majority had jobs prior to the outbreak, most have now been laid off. RIVER FUND remains 100% operational in this crisis—and we are here, facing our clients in person, and responding to their needs every day as they change with this evolving tragedy.

We are standing with our neighbors. Please stand with us. Thank you.

This line continues for 16 more blocks

This line, extending for sixteen city blocks, includes people from all five boroughs waiting to receive COVID-19 relief groceries at RIVER FUND's main site in Richmond Hill, Queens, on Saturday, April 25...

We gave out two tractor trailers that day.

We gave out 47 tons of food on that day alone—two full tractor trailer loads like the one above. Our weekly demand is more than seven tractor trailers. Please help us to continue feeding our neighbors.
