RIVER FUND IS A VITAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER
Since early in the pandemic, during which about a third of New York City’s pantries permanently closed, RIVER FUND has operated a “Hub & Spoke” program serving an average of six to eight smaller community-based organizations, furnishing them with food from its warehouses for local needs not otherwise being addressed. These supported pantries are located in communities identified as lacking in access to emergency food for their residents.
