In Celebration of Easter, Team RIVER FUND created and distributed over 1,000 fabulous and fun Easter Baskets for some of our youth. It take a village to create this many baskets and we are grateful to our supporters. From old friends, to members of our RIVER FUND family and even local schools and partners, we were able to provide a bit of normalcy and some sweet treats to our clients in celebration of Easter!
Sita and Sal are long time yoga friends of Swami and they have been making baskets for us for the last 18 years! In previous years, Sita and Sal have crafted easter baskets with their family and friends our of their yoga studio, ‘Yoga for Life.’ Unfortunately, due to COVID, the studio closed, but this did not stop them from bringing everyone together! This year, they rented a space in Astoria to assemble the baskets.
Sarah, one of our Mary C. Tiedemann Scholarship Graduates was another one of our treasured Easter Basket donors. She collected items and donations from the company she works for and gathered enough goodies to donate 140 Easter Baskets!
Finally, through the help of our local schools and partners that contributed candy and treats, we were able to gather and share another 400 Easter Baskets!
